
All About Me

I am a British trained Registered Nurse and Licensed Midwife with over 40 years of experience working in both fields. I am also a Childbirth Class or La Maze Class Instructor and holds a Certificate in Intensive Care Nursing.
Graduated from the University of the West Indies after pursing a 3-year course in Psychology. This was followed by a correspondence course from Scotland and earned a Diploma in Psychology.
Trained Teacher and Assessor with the National Training Agency (NTA). This has given her experience in assisting young people in programmes such as Aides to Nursing Geriatric and Child Care courses with the Youth Training and Employment Partnership Programme (YTEPP) and in teaching young people who are enrolled in the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) of Trinidad and Tobago.
After working at the Port of Spain General Hospital for just over two decades, She joined the Midwifery workforce at the Mount Hope Women’s hospital and became extensively involved in the Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative and shortly after became coordinator of that initiative for the hospital and some of the Community Health Centers. I am a qualified and experienced Breastfeeding peer counsellor.
